Photos from my trip to West Texas in early October to visit my friend Grace who recently moved to Marfa for work. The weather was lovely and the landscape was breathtaking.
The Chihuahuan Desert Basin. These three photos above were taken enroute to Donald Judd's Ranch. Thanks to David Branch navigating the windy rocky roads in his vintage Chevy pickup for getting us to our destination.
Quaint town of Marfa. Home of Judd's permanent works and the Chinati Founation.
Look closely and you'll see Judd's concrete scuptures, a permanent installation in the fields of Chinati property, what was once a former army station.
And on our drive east towards Austin... in the horizon, can you spot the natural formation? Apparently its quite a site, Mount Squat Tit.
